Team Captains
1st Team Captain - Nigel Jacobs
A top order batsman of impeccable technique, he drives handsomely and catches well. A true gentleman and an inspiration to the colts as he came up through the ranks. Nigel has a tough job this year trying to get the 1st team back on form and hopefully promoted this (2022).
2nd Team Captain - Maz Malik
An attacking batsman who scores a lot and a formidable wicket keeper. One of the longest serving members of the club, having been there at the beginning of time when the club was first founded. That was a joke, though he has been here decades and very recently started playing for Essex's over 50s.
3rd Team Captain - Izra Khan
Opening bowler and the king of discipline. He runs a tight ship and that is the reason why the third team won the league last year (2021). Make a mistake on the field, he'll remind you about it every week!
4th Team Captain - Razib Hassan
A very fine wibbly wobbly bowler and a solid bat that can slot anywhere in the order. His favourite fielding position is slip!
5th Team Captain - Ratnakar Tiwari
An amazing opening bowler with lots of stories to tell. The 5th team is made up of colts working their way through the ranks and it is Ratnakar's job to ensure they can transition to playing men's cricket. Ratnakar is also a dab hand at umpiring and scoring. He knows all the rules, so don't even try it!
